Supervisory Certification Program to Take Place at Shawnee State
University
Shawnee State University will be hosting a Supervisory
Certification Program from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Tuesdays
from April 6 through May 18 in the Advanced Technology
Center, Room 132. The program includes 7 courses. A
different course will be taken each week.
The first
course is called Essentials of Leadership. The course
focuses on multiplying employee effectiveness by motivating
the team and helping others to be more effective. It will
also focus on accomplishing more in interactions in less
time, while enhancing interpersonal relationships with
employees.
The course
Understanding and Maximizing Employee Strengths will take
place on April 13. Through this course employees will learn
how all employees fit into one of four different personality
types. Participants will also learn how to communicate with
each type and how to work with the most difficult employee
in order to maximize their strengths and increase
productivity.
Resolving
Conflict is a course that will take place on April 20. In
this course participants will handle workplace challenges by
using coaching and reinforcement to help employees gain the
confidence and experience required for success.
The course
Leading High Performance Teams will take place on April 27.
Participants will learn the secret to helping teams perform
at their best. The course provides the tools and skills to
diagnose, coach and reinforce, to support their team’s
growth.
The course
Delegating For Results will take place on May 4.
Participants will learn how leaders overcome hesitation for
delegation by learning skills for successfully matching
people, responsibility and authority.
The course
Understanding Harassment in the Workplace will take place on
May 11. Participants will learn the definition of sexual
harassment by legal standards, what to do if an allegation
is made, what happens if you don’t follow the law and much
more.
The course
Essentials of Personnel Law will be held on May 18.
Participants will learn the basics of personnel laws and how
to stay legally safe when making personnel decisions that
will impact an organization.
In order to
receive the supervisory certificate, participants must take
all seven courses.
The tuition
fee for all seven courses is $549 and includes a workbook
for each session. The tuition fee for an individual course
is $109.
