Finding a job these days can be a difficult task and job seekers need to be prepared as possible. On Thursday, March 15 the Shawnee State University Office of Career Services held its annual "Dine for Success" dinner in the Sodexo Ballroom in the University Center to inform students about proper work attire and dining etiquette.
"Learning concepts of appropriate dining etiquette and appropriate attire to wear at interviews and work are essential in today's challenging job market," said Steve Gregory, director of Career Services. "Many interviews are scheduled over lunch or dinner and knowing how to do it right in terms of the proper etiquette can be very telling to the interviewer and indicate how the candidate deals with aspects of their personal and work lives."
Approximately 60 students participated in the event which consisted of a full course meal and a power point presentation by Chris Nourse, associate director of Human Resources and Denise Gregory, coordinator of Alumni and Retiree Services.
Gregory said the evening began with a mixing and mingling session which gave students the opportunity to practice the fine art of networking.
