            SSU Women’s Basketball Coach Robin Hagen-Smith has been named the 2010 Distinguished Service Award recipient.
            “The Distinguished Service Award is something that we currently do every other year,” Milliken said. “We have many wonderful people on our campus who have worked diligently and done very important things to support and encourage women. This award is our way of paying tribute to them and thanking them for their efforts.”
            This year’s award will be the sixth ceremony over the years. Hagen-Smith is in her twenty-seventh year as Women's Head Basketball Coach at SSU with an overall record of 611-180. She is ranked as the fifth National Association of Intercollegiate Athletes all-time winning active coach and the ninth overall winning coach ever in the NAIA.
            Previous Distinguished Service Award winners include Elinda Boyles, 2008; Barbara Duncan, 2006; Kathleen Simon, 2004; Liz Chrisman, 2003; and Cay Roberts, 2002.

            Hagen-Smith will be honored at a luncheon later this month.
