Workshops for Water and Wastewater Personnel
Offered at Shawnee State University
Shawnee State University’s Associate Professor of
Engineering Ken Warfield instructs water and wastewater
personnel all-day workshops on the third Friday of each
month at SSU’s Advanced Technology Center.
Professor Warfield designed the environmental engineering
technology degree program at SSU and has been teaching at
the university for 27 years.
SSU
offers an associate degree in the environmental engineering
technology program, and it has an articulation program with
Miami University. After obtaining an associate degree from
SSU, students can obtain a bachelor’s degree from Miami in
the same program.
These
workshops are the same courses that SSU students must take
to obtain their associate degree. Each course cost $100,
unless the student takes two or more courses then the course
cost is $85 each and lunch is provided.
“For
employees in this field, the workshops fulfill their need
and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approves of
it,” Warfield said.
The
workshops for January through April include:
·
Introduction to Process Control, Jan. 15
·
Discrete Static Process Control, Feb. 19
· PLC,
March 19
· Waste
Water Math Review, April 16
