Dr. Xiaodan Huang, Teacher Education professor, and three

be presenting “Wikified Webquest Project: Using Web 2.0 to
Bridge P12 and Teacher Education” on Wednesday, Feb. 3
during the Ohio Educational Technology Conference February
1-3 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center in Columbus.
“It is
a project using Web 2 to make a lesson plan,” Huang said.
“The project model is called a Webquest model, but we use
Wiki, a Web 2 technology.”
The
students are all in different fields each will be presenting
projects using Wiki at the conference. Lonsinger is in high
school math education; Sagraves is in K12 Visual Arts
education; and Amy Berry is in early childhood education.
Lonsinger and Sagraves worked together on a project
integrating high school math and visual arts. Berry worked
with two other students on her project and she will be
presenting for her group.
“This
is unique,” Huang said. “We were in an early group using
this technology and this is the first time we are
presenting.”
The
2010 eTech Ohio Educational Technology Conference attracts a
huge crowd with nearly 6,000 participants last year. It is
among the largest educational technology conferences in the
nation with more than 300 sessions and displays, 225
exhibitors, and acclaimed keynote and featured speakers.
The
theme for this year’s conference is “P-20 Conversations:
Shaping a Path for the 21st Century Student.” It addresses
the need to provide seamless technology integration
throughout students’ careers. It is the first time that
eTech Ohio, OhioLink, Ohio Learning Network and OARnet have
come together to present the conference.
The
conference provides interactive sessions, research
presentations, hands-on labs, national keynote speakers,
networking opportunities and a classroom of the future.
