Library Services For
High School Students:
The
Shawnee State University Library is pleased to extend the
following visiting borrower privileges to responsible students
from participating schools. Students should make application with the librarian
at their school. Eligible students must sign a courtesy
card and present it to the Circulation counter to acquire a Borrower's
card. A parent’s signature is also required for
students under the age of 18.
- All students may use the Clark
Memorial library building, library resources, and a selected
number of the library public computers for research purposes.
Resources include books, magazines, journals, newspapers,
videos, reference materials, Ebooks,
Ejournals, digital media, and government documents.
- Access to electronic databases and
Microsoft OFFICE word processing and spreadsheet software
is also provided on designated stations in the library. Full access to the WWW
is not available on these workstations.
- Access to the
Shawnee
State University Library's local catalog and web page and
OhioLINK central
catalog is available.
- Librarians are available at the
reference/information counter (740.351.3321) to answer any questions about the
use of the library.
- Copiers are available at a cost of
10˘ a copy; color copies are 25˘.
- Printouts from public computers
are 10˘ and available at the Circulation Counter .

Borrowing
Privileges
- Upon presentation of the student
courtesy card at the circulation counter, 5 SSU items may be
checked out. One item must be returned for each additional item
charged out. You may also borrow 5 additional items from
OhioLINK. The borrower will be responsible for paying fines or
replacement costs associated with such loans.
- Books are checked out for 21 days
and non-print items for 7 days.
- Items may be renewed if no
other user has requested them. Renewals may be made online
from the library homepage or by phone, 740.351.3519.
- Overdue items must be renewed,
returned or paid for before additional items may be borrowed.
The first overdue notice is
sent to the borrowers home.
- The second overdue notice is
sent to the borrowers school librarians who will take
appropriate action.
- Magazines, journals,
microfilm, microfiche, and
reference books may be used in the Library.
