Dear Student, Shawnee State University will host the
4th Annual A Celebration of Scholarship Undergraduate Conference
on Thursday, April 17, 2008. The purpose of the conference is to celebrate student academic and creative achievements. The conference is an excellent opportunity for you to present your academic work in a formal setting. Using either the oral or poster format, you can present your community service, creative and research activities, or independent study. Student scholarship from various disciplines such as the arts, education, mathematics, business, social sciences, humanities, health sciences, natural sciences, and engineering/engineering technology may be presented at this conference. As a participant, this is a unique opportunity to develop and polish your presentation skills, to gain recognition of your scholarly activities, and to list the experience on your resume and/or graduate school application. Basically, you would expand your abilities necessary for success in the job market and in graduate school. Call for Papers The conference committee invites submission of presentation proposals now until Friday, March 14, 2008. Presentations of papers or posters that were developed for past classes or are being prepared for current classes are acceptable. Student presenters must have a faculty mentor or sponsor. For more information consult http://celebration.shawnee.edu. In order to give a presentation at the conference, please complete the presenter registration form on back and return it to the address indicated or email the requested information to the conference director. The committee will accept proposals until Friday, March 14, 2008. However, students are encouraged to submit proposals as soon as possible in order to ensure a place in the program.
