Shawnee State knocked off NAIA #20 ranked Notre Dame College
2-1 to close out the season.
NDC’s Ashley Rucker scored the first goal of
the game on an assist from Anic McKay in the 24th
minute of the first half. Katherine Westendorf tied the
game with a goal, assisted from Cindi Hay and Courtney Moore
at the 84:27 mark of the game. Westendorf then found the
back of the net again 1:22 later to give the Bears the 2-1
advantage and the victory. Shawnee State was out shot 13-4 on
goal. SSU’s Sam Rolsen recorded 12 saves in the game.
NDC’s Emilie Lamarche tallied 2 saves in the contest. “This

Tuesday afternoon. Shawnee State improves to 5-5-1 overall
and 2-4-1 in the AMC. Rio Grande falls to 3-8-2 overall and
1-5-2 in the AMC.
Kelley Bowles scored the first goal of the game on an assist
from Savoeung Ien in the 21st minute of play. The
Bears found the net again a minute later with a goal by
Katherine Westendorf on an assist from Danielle Morgan to tally
the score at 2-0 at the half. Bowles scored again in the 67th
minute of play on an assist from Courtney Moore. Shawnee State
