Head Coach
Ron Goodson

Coach Goodson became the Men’s Head Soccer Coach in February 2000. Prior to this appointment he was the Assistant Coach in 1994 and 1995. For the past seven years he has taught third grade at Rosemount Elementary School.  For three years prior to accepting the Shawnee State position, he coached soccer at Clay High School.

Goodson played soccer for the University of Rio Grande in 1987-88 and was named All-Conference and Team MVP. He played for the U. S. Army in Germany from 1989-91. He then returned to Shawnee State where he played soccer and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Social Science, Elementary Education. Goodson still holds the record for career goals scored among Scioto County High Schools.

He resides in Flatwoods, KY, with his wife Anita.  He also has a daughter named Brooke, and two sons named Brandon and Justin and has four grandchildren.

  
Assistant Coach
Mark Trapp
Coach Trapp joined Shawnee State's soccer program in 1989.  He served as an assistant coach during the inaugural men's soccer season.  He returned to the sidelines at Shawnee State in July of 2003.  During his absence from SSU, Coach Trapp coached high school soccer at Clay High School becoming the school's all-time most winning coach.  He was voted SOC Coach of the Year twice, Southeast District Coach of the Year and State Runner-up Coach of the Year.  He currently holds the NSCAA Goalkeeper State and Regional Diplomas. 

Coach Trapp has been employed by the Community Action Organization for 15 years where he has been an instructor in the JOG program for 13 years. 

He resides in Portsmouth, OH, with his wife Erin, son Kyle and daughter Brianna.
