MASON COUNTY'S LANG TO PLAY AT SHAWNEE STATE
Mason County High School Justin Lang has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Shawnee State University.  He is the fourth member of the Bears' 2010-2011 recruiting class.

Lang is a four-year letter winner in basketball at Mason County High School.  Over his career he has helped guide the team to a 111-21 record, a State Championship as a sophomore and a Final Four appearance as a senior.  Lang has been named honorable mention all-region and AIT All-Tournament Team.  As a senior he averaged 10 points and three assists per game.

"We are really excited to add Justin to this class," said Head Coach Jeff Hamilton.  "He really fills a void for us because he is a true point guard, who will compete for playing time because of his unselfishness and toughness.  I have been very impressed with his defense and think he will be able to run the team as a point.  Justin is one of those guys that everyone on the team likes and is really enjoying getting to know him."

In 2010-2011 Shawnee State will compete in its first season in the Mid-South Conference.  Last season the Bears compiled an overall record of 8-21 and a record of 5-11 in the American Mideast Conference.

BEARS PICK UP THIRD RECRUIT FOR 2010-2011 SEASON
Trevor Banks, a shooting guard, from Fort Pierce, Florida has signed a letter of intent to continue his basketball career at Shawnee State University.  He is the third member of the Bears' 2010-2011 recruiting class.

Banks is a three-year letter winner in basketball at Fort Pierce Central.  The two-time team captain earned 2nd Team All-Conference and 1st Team All-Tournament honors at FPC.  As a senior, he averaged 16 points, four rebounds, five assists, three steals, and two blocks per game, guiding his team to a 22-6 record.

"Trevor is a great addition to our program," said Head Coach Jeff Hamilton.  "He will be able to play either guard position and has a high basketball IQ.  He really clicked with our guys when he came to visit and will add some depth at the guard spot.  Trevor can really shoot the ball, but his knack for the game will be a great asset to our program.  He is the quality young that we are building this program around."

"Andrew is another great addition to our program," says Head Coach Jeff Hamilton.  "He gives us a different dimension in the post with his athleticism, especially with his ability to alter shots and be a factor on the glass.  I am really looking forward to working on expanding his offensive game.  As he continues to lift and get stronger, I see him making an immediate impact as we prepare for our first season in the Mid-South Conference.  Best of all, Andrew is an outstanding young man.  He will work hard both in the classroom and on the court and be a great fit for our program!"
