The Shawnee State University Alumni Association is now accepting nominations for its two alumni honors: the distinguished alumnus award and the alumni service award.

Distinguished Alumnus Award: This award is presented to an alumnus or alumna who has demonstrated outstanding performance in his or her profession and has made outstanding contributions to his or her community.  This is the highest honor presented by the Alumni Association.

Alumni Service Award: This award is presented to an alumnus or alumna in recognition of his or her outstanding volunteer service and contributions to Shawnee State and/or the Alumni Association. 

If you would like to nominate someone for either of these awards, you can send an e-mail with the person's name, contact information and a brief explanation as to why they should be considered for the award to ahenderson@shawnee.edu.  Nominations may also be mailed to SSU Alumni Association, 940 Second Street, Portsmouth, OH 45662.  The deadline for nominations is July 3, 2008.

Finalists will be chosen by the Alumni Awards Committee, with the winner being chosen by the Alumni Council.  The awards will be presented during the Alumni and Scholarship Awards Reception October 23, 2008.
