We have discussed quite a lot via e-mails and here is some info:

I checked with women’s center and with AHANA to see if they are aware any problems exist in terms of minorities and women. Both reported there were not aware of any problems. Women’s center will invite me to an upcoming meeting so we can discuss a variety of issues and explore areas of cooperation.

I contacted Manon "Misko" Beaudrie, of Ohio State University, and had us join the now-forming Ohio American Indian Knowledge consortium. The consortium will provide us with support and potential speakers. I checked with Steve Midkiff and we have 38 students who consider themselves partly Native Americans.

The committee agreed to place emphasis on education (i.e. the third charge of the committee) this year. It was decided to explore possibilities of bringing in speakers to present information in public forums. I am pursuing speakers in four areas at least: women issues, African American, Native American, and internationals.

Finally I asked UIS to create an e-mail address so that people in our community can report issues or problems. We are still waiting for UIS to create one. Once it is created we will send an e-mail to all mentioning the address.
