Intervention Specialist

Special education professionals are committed to developing the highest educational and quality of life potential of individuals with exceptionalities. To that end, the Intervention Specialist programs at Shawnee State prepare teacher candidates to meet the needs of those individuals with exceptionalities by providing a quality program that meets the high standards set by the Council for Exceptional Children, the Ohio Department of Education, and the SSU Department of Teacher Education five domains of teacher capacity.

License Test Requirements

Prior to Clinical Teaching our candidates must pass the Content Test (013 or 043) in their licensure area.  The Pedagogy Test (001 or 004) in their licensure area must be passed before the candidates can apply for license.  Effective July 1, 2017, candidates must pass Content and Pedagogy Tests PLUS pass the Reading Test (090) before the candidates can apply for license.
