Welcome to the Department of Nursing at Shawnee State University. Take a few moments to explore our website. The Department of Nursing offers a range of opportunities for those just beginning their nursing educational journey or to licensed nurses seeking high quality educational opportunities
The Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) Program has been a degree granting program at Shawnee State University since 1969. The ADN Program is dedicated to educating nurses for local, state, and national healthcare needs. The Department of Nursing is dedicated to maintaining the integrity and quality of the University, the nursing program, and the nursing profession.
The Department of Nursing has offered a baccalaureate in nursing (BSN) since 1999 when the first cohort of licensed nurses enrolled in the RN-BSN curriculum. Now there are two pathways to achieve the BSN – the RN-BSN pathway and the pre-licensure BSN pathway which admitted its first cohort in August 2012.
On behalf of the faculty, I invite you to explore the website for information about the Department of Nursing’s history, mission and philosophy and programs offered. Your interest in Shawnee State University and the Department of Nursing is appreciated and we look forward to hearing from you.
