The Shawnee State Honors Program is designed for students with exceptional academic ability and curiosity. Courses
designated for the program give honor students unique opportunities for reflection,
discussion, and investigation while also fulfilling certain standard graduation requirements.
The program brings students together in a challenging and supportive environment which
nourishes intellectual, social, and creative growth.
At Shawnee State University, we want you to be successful. We want all students to
reach their education goals, including earning a degree.
To help give students the extra support, skills, and attention they need to be successful,
we have created a Success Curriculum that leads to a two-year degree that can be transitioned into a four-year degree
in their chosen fields of study.
Shawnee State University offers accelerated programs to help students earn a bachelor's
degree in three years. These programs require the same number of credit hours as traditional
programs, but they allow students who carefully choose and earn college credits in
advance to earn a degree more quickly.
The SSU Celebration of Scholarship is an opportunity for students to learn to present
academic work in a formal setting, receive feedback from faculty and scholars in the
field, exchange ideas with other undergraduate scholars, and build a resume.
