Bachelor of Science in Natural Science, Geology Concentration

The bachelor of science in natural science with a concentration in geology is designed for students seeking careers in earth science, environmental science, or entry into graduate programs in geology or environmental science.  For more information concerning the degree program, contact Dr. Jeffrey Bauer, Dr. Kurt Shoemaker, or the Department of Natural Sciences.

GEOLOGY REQUIREMENTS (28 HOURS)

SECOND SCIENCE AREA (12 HOURS)
Twelve hours of courses in any one area of science other than the primary concentration.  Students may choose physics, biology, chemistry, or math.  Math courses must be numbered 1300 or above.
THIRD SCIENCE AREA (8 HOURS)
Eight hours of courses in any one area of science other than the primary concentration or secondary science area.  Students may choose physics, biology, chemistry, or math.  Math courses must be numbered 1300 or above.
ADDITIONAL SCIENCE/MATH (4 HOURS)
Any course in biology, geology, chemistry, natural science, physics, or math not used above.  Math courses must be numbered 1300 or above.
SPEECH REQUIREMENT (3 HOURS)
COMM 1103 Public Speaking & Human Communication 3
MATHEMATICS PROFICIENCY REQUIREMENT
Proficiency in MATH 1300 (Precalculus) either through placement at a higher level or completion of this or a higher level math course.
GENERAL ELECTIVES (42 HOURS)
