Bear Trax is Here!

June 9, 2017

Training sessions begin Monday

Plan to attend one of the upcoming training sessions to learn how to use the Human Resources and Financial components of Bear Trax. Learn how to submit vacation forms electronically, access your personalized information, and view your paystub. All faculty, staff and student employees will begin using the new system on July 1.

Check out more information on the project website and the Bear Trax training calendar. The June training dates are available below. All training sessions will take place in the Flohr Lecture Hall of the Clark Memorial Library.

The day the lights went out...

April 6th, 2017

Tuesday's power outage closed campus, but it didn't slow down several teams. As the lights went out, the SSU Payroll team was busy testing the new BearTrax payroll software, which rolls out July 1. Undaunted by the darkness, they continued to work using the light from their laptops – and a few Shawnee State glow sticks! Check out their progress on the Bear Trax project website.

Shawnee State Wins Oracle's Better Together Award

Shawnee State has won Oracle's Better Together Change Agents of Finance Award which will be presented at the Modern Finance Experience Conference, April 11-13 in Boston, Massachusetts. The award focuses on the use of Oracle Cloud solutions in conjunction with the Oracle ERP Cloud, which focuses on our business operations (finance, budgeting, human resources and payroll). BearTrax Team at Alliance

Bear Trax team shares expertise at Alliance National Conference

March 16th, 2017

The Bear Trax implementation team recently presented at the Alliance 2017 national conference in Las Vegas, NV. The conference hosted the largest meeting of Oracle software users in higher education. The team presented four sessions while also learning tips on other universities' cloud transformations.

The Bear Trax project is continuing with Phase 2 which includes the launching of the new web-based software for finance and human resources in July 2017. For more information on Bear Trax, visit the project website.

Bear Trax Logo and Website Unveiled

The Bear Trax team unveiled the new logo and framework for the new website that is under construction for the project. Bear Trax is a web-based system for SSU with tools built on the Oracle cloud platform for marketing, recruitment, finance, budgeting, human resources and payroll. Shawnee State is implementing Oracle cloud as part of the Strategic Plan to become more student-focused by leveraging the latest technology to create operational efficiencies across campus. The project team kicked off a 'Name the New System' contest this week and the winner is Bear Trax. Mark Moore, Angel Tackett and Jay Chatterjee, our implementation partner from Drivestream, all had part in naming the new system. Thank you to everyone who participated.
